VT-ALERT

The Stowe Emergency Management Team and Stowe Public Safety is excited to announce that we will be transitioning to VT-ALERT as the primary communication system for local emergency notifications.

VT-ALERT is a statewide system that is operated and managed by the Vermont Department of Public Safety.   The platform sends subscribers emails, text messages or phone calls.

Stowe-specific alerts will include notices of storm preparations, traffic alerts, road closures, and other public safety emergencies.  Not only can the subscriber choose how they want to be notified, they can also choose the type of alert they receive and for what geographic area it is for.  Even if you live in a location that doesn’t have cell service, the system can dial your landline phone.  This system is also not just designed for residents, it is intended to be used by anyone that visits, works or lives in the area.

Please share this message with your friends, family and neighbors.  The more subscribers, the better we will be able to serve the community.  If you have any questions, please contact Emergency Management Director, Kyle Walker at (802)253-4315 or [email protected]
